Growing up in Sydney, Sam was always interested in hospitality.

At the age of 18, he moved to Canada and picked up his first bartending shift. Over the next 8 years, Sam travelled through North America, South American, south east Asia and Sydney while working all different styles of hospitality – from catering, bars, pubs and nightclubs.

In 2016, he moved to Cairns and opened Three Wolves with Darren Barber and Grant Buckham. This was Cairns first whisky bar.

From opening Three Wolves and learning about Whisky, what was next? The team had a good amount of rum at Three Wolves and started to enjoy sipping this. From here the love grew to a passion, learning all he could about the production of rum and flavour profiles. This developed in opening Cairns first Rum/Tiki bar – Flamingos tiki bar.

Wolf Lane Distillery which was opened in October 2019 is an international awarded Gin distillery.

Sam experience lies heavily in Whisky, rum, cocktails and creating gin.
